This web site is intended primarily to provide support for my text books and also for any conference sessions I am involved with that might benefit from having some on-line resources associated with them.
As well as the academic pages, there's some more personal stuff here
My C++ and Java books are now both published

New material in the 2003 edition of the Java book includes Reflection, Serialization, the Collections Framework, Swing components and the Java Plug-in, as well as many minor revisions and updates.
Of course nobody reads this stuff, but it lives forever in the British Library. Both my MPhil and PhD were based on work with C++ systems that dynamically generated object types underneath a graphical user interface used for designing electronic systems.
